Key challenges included :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Skill gaps:<\/strong> The clients\u2019 expanding mainframe services created an urgent demand for skilled professionals in critical areas like DASD support, COBOL, and Z-OS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Talent attrition:<\/strong> The retiring of experienced mainframe experts disrupted operations, impacted client satisfaction, and jeopardized delivery timelines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Retention issues:<\/strong> The combination of high-pressure workloads, on-site role requirements, and unconventional working hours made retaining critical mainframe talent increasingly difficult.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our solution<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To address these challenges, we designed a customized <a href=\"https:\/\/pyramidci.com\/talent-home-page\/\">talent solution<\/a> to help the client hire mainframe experts, upskill their workforce, and build long-term talent retention strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Strategic talent acquisition<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Leveraging Bestshoring and market intelligence analysis, we strategically sourced talent across the U.S. and Canada, ensuring regional alignment with the client\u2019s operational needs and geographic footprint. We created a specialized team based near Toronto to support their work with Canada\u2019s largest bank and leveraged our extensive talent engine to quickly hire talent with the required technical skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Partnering for customized training program<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We partnered with the client to co-create a tailored <a href=\"https:\/\/genspark.net\/employers\/\">tech training program<\/a> focused on essential mainframe technologies and business-specific needs. The program, guided by our experts with decades of hands-on experience, provided practical, real-world training for team members and incorporated a feedback-driven approach to continually refine it for maximum impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Streamlined onboarding and compliance<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We built regional mainframe cohorts to be deployed across the U.S. and Canada, including specialized teams to serve several of Canada\u2019s leading financial institutions. Our accelerated onboarding processes reduced time-to-productivity, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Retention-focused initiatives<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Through our Belong:IN program, we extended access to our established Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), to foster a culture of inclusion and belonging and drive consultant performance.
